Welcome from our Designated Safeguarding Leads
Ark Dickens is a community and all those directly connected (staff, governors, parents, families, and pupils) have an essential role to play in making it safe and secure. We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all children with their best interests at the centre of our work.
Ark Dickens recognises the importance of providing an ethos and environment within school that will help children to feel safe, secure, and respected; encourage them to talk openly; and enable them to feel confident that they will be listened to. This ethos is underpinned by our school values. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection, and justice.
Reporing a safeguarding concern
At Ark Dickens Primary Academy, pupils always have member of staff they can talk to if they have any problems or concerns. These range from their class teacher, teaching assistant, ELSA, pastoral member, or any member of staff. All our staff, no matter what role, are all safeguard trained and will listen to your child.
Ark Dickens Primary Academy work with many safeguarding partners and these offer additional reporting, help and advice for pupils and parents.
