At Ark Dickens Primary Academy, we are committed to supporting the right of every child to have equal access to a broad and balanced education, regardless of the academic or physical ability. We understand and recognise that sometimes children require additional support to help them with their learning, tuition and a language enrichment programme.
When children’s needs are complex and require additional support, we work with external agencies such as Educational Psychologists, Specialist teachers and Speech and Language therapists to ensure our provision is effective. If additional targeted support is advised, this is planned for and referred to in each child’s Individual Learning Plan e.g. speech and language targeted support.
Our school setting prides itself for having a strong sense of community where all adults strive to know and understand each and every child both academically and as a person. When difficulties or concerns arise, we ensure that early intervention is put in place to close gaps in learning, provide appropriate emotional support and ensure full access to the curriculum for their year group.
