As part of our extended curriculum offer, Year 2 took a trip to the Forest of Bere for a picnic in the wild. Many children grow up in a city and don’t get to experience the wonders of the countryside. At Ark Dickens, we strive to provide a multitude of opportunities in order to develop our children into well-rounded citizens of the world and the visit forms part of this offer. When they arrived at the forest, the children went on a small walk through the forest to experience den building before enjoying a picnic style lunch in the woodlands. They paid particular attention to the seasons and identify what makes a forest and which animals inhabit it. They had so much fun and did Ark Dickens proud!
