A group of lucky pupils from Ark Dickens Academy had an unforgettable day this week as they were invited to a special event at the King’s Theatre to celebrate the launch of David Walliams' latest book.
The excitement was palpable as the children arrived at the theatre, buzzing with anticipation. Meeting one of the UK’s most beloved children’s authors was already a dream come true – but there was an even bigger surprise in store. After the event, David Walliams joined the children on the minibus, making the experience truly magical.
Ralphie, a Year 6 pupil, couldn’t believe his luck: “I’m never washing my hand again!” he exclaimed after receiving a high five from the bestselling author.
The visit was not only a fantastic treat, but also a brilliant way to nurture our children’s love of reading. At Ark Dickens, we are passionate about fostering a deep and lasting enthusiasm for books, stories, and literacy – and moments like this bring that mission to life.
We are so proud of our children for representing #TeamDickens with such enthusiasm and curiosity. A huge thank you to David Walliams and the team at the King’s Theatre for making this day one our pupils will never forget!
