On Tuesday 7th February the whole school came together as a community to celebrate Charles Dickens' birthday. It was lovely to see so many of the children and staff come to school dressed in their Victorian costumes.
The day started with an assembly where the children learnt about why our school is named after the famous author. Each class spent some time learning about why Charles Dickens is famous and about his life. Each year group had a different book to study throughout the day; lots of the children recognised the names of the characters from places within the local area.
The children had a history lesson studying an area of Victorian life and each child contributed a piece of artwork to a year group collaborative piece ready to go on display. Thank you to everyone for taking part and coming together for another event where Ark Dickens showed great unity.
