Ark Dickens was filled with excitement this week as professional circus artist, Jackie Clementines, from Farm Yard Circus introduced students to the vibrant world of circus arts. Through engaging workshops, students explored a range of circus techniques, honing their teamwork, coordination, balance, and creative thinking skills in the process.
This thrilling experience was produced by Crying Out Loud, Portsmouth-based creative producers, as part of the Circus Around and About 2 project. This initiative, which tours exceptional circus shows and workshops to both rural and urban communities, is funded by an Arts Council England Lottery and delivered in partnership with Take Art and Extraordinary Bodies.
The visit is part of the Ark Culture Programme, supported by the Clore Duffield Foundation, which aims to enrich students' learning through exposure to arts and culture.
Headteacher, Mrs Berry said, “We’re thrilled to have such an inspiring artist share his talents with our students. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them to develop new skills in such a fun and creative way.”
