Welcome to the Ark Dickens Nursery

Our nursery offers quality child care and holistic learning for up to 30 children.

Our nursery staff have specialist knowledge of early years, and strong subject-knowledge. They are here to support your child with his or her transition into reception class. School can be a shock to children who come along from private day nurseries, but at Ark Tindal the nursery and reception staff work really closely together to ensure this doesn't happen.

Here to support your child in our nursery are:

  • Mrs R Grosvenor - Class teacher and EYFS Phase Lead
  • Mrs D Oram - Class teacher
  • Miss R Begum - Class teacher
  • Mr R Lyne - Class teacher

We follow the statutory framework for the early years foundation stage (EYFS), which is set by the Department for Education.

A child-centred approach

Ark Dickens Nursery has high expecations for each and every one of our children - and that is true for our youngest children as well. We offer holistic learning, supported by structured play, as well as our Read Write Inc. phonics programme, Talk 4 Writing and Maths Group work to ensure that each of our children can be confident readers, writers and mathematicians when they get to primary school.

The nursery is situated near Portsmouth and Southsea train station and is a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre. We are situated on the same site as Ark Dickens Primary Academy.
